  2.                  The Whats, Whys, and Rules of R.I.P.Net
  3. =========================================================================

  5.         R.I.P.Net is a front end & QWK-based Network devoted to Science
  6.  Fiction, Horror, Fantasy and Roleplaying Games.  It is open to all ages
  7.  and there are no adult conferences.  Aliases are encouraged in the majority 
  8.  of the conferences to allow users to be able to share their thoughts and
  9.  ideas while still remaining somewhat anonymous.
  10.  
  11.         Because this is an all-ages Network, there are rules that must be
  12.  followed, and are outlined below.

  14.         We hope you enjoy this Network and find it educational as well as
  15.  entertaining.

  33.                      Sysop/Moderator Rules & Rights
  34.  
  35.  
  36. 1. The following conferences:  Admin, Sysops, Moderators, are required.
  37.    All three conferences REQUIRE REAL NAMES (aliases are NOT allowed here)
  38.         A. Admin is open to (and required for) Administrators and Sysops
  39.            and is a READ ONLY conference.  
  40.         B. Sysops is open to Net sysops and above only
  41.         C. Mod is open to Net sysops, moderators and above only
  42.  
  43. 2. Make sure all users are following the rules.
  44.         A. Users breaking the rules are given 3 chances to stop
  45.         B. After the third offense, remove their access from all R.I.P.Net
  46.            conferences.
  47.         C. If the offender is not a user on your board, report the problem
  48.            to a Net Coordinator or your Hub.  (Hubs will forward the
  49.            grievances to the Net Coordinators for disciplinary action.)
  50.         D. Use your own discression when disciplining offenders.  Sysops have
  51.            say as to what actions are tolerated on their particular BBS.
  52.         E. Moderators cannot tell sysops how to run their boards.

  54.                           User Rules & Rights

  56. 1. Respect others
  57.         A. No flaming or personal attacks allowed
  58.         B. Bigotry, racism, stereotyping and bashing of any kind are NOT
  59.            TOLERATED
  60.         C. Listen and respect others opinions
  61. 2. Watch your mouth
  62.         A. No swearing or foul language
  63.         B. No graphic depictions of sex or extreme violence
  64.         C. No slanderous comments about another user/sysop/ect. and no gossip
  65. 3. Stay on topic
  66.         A. Move it to the correct conference if you want to continue with
  67.            that topic
  68. 4. Aliases are encouraged
  69.         A. You may use an alias in the open conferences if you wish (and if
  70.            your board sysop allows it)
  71.         B. The alias must be in good taste - no swear words
  72. 5. Moderators & sysops have immediate say
  73.         A. Moderators have immediate say as to what is considered breaking
  74.            the rules.
  75.         B. Sysops have the right to lock out from R.I.P.Net conferences
  76.            anyone who is continually breaking the rules.
  77.         C. Users who disagree with decisions of the moderator/sysop may
  78.            contact the next person up on the chain (ie sysop-hub-coordinator)
  79.            until their grievance is heard and dealt with properly.  Desisions
  80.            of the Net Coordinators are final.

  83.  That's all the rules for now.  Rules may be modified, added, or removed
  84.  as need arises.  Sysops & Moderators will be notified of any rule changes
  85.  affecting them.
